Road Biker

Road Biking

You'll see some of the most beautiful country along the roads in the Adirondack Park...and they're great for all riding abilities and riding styles. You'll pass scenic mountain vistas, streams, and lush green woodlands. Watch out for the occasional bear, turkeys, woodchuck, or fox.

Fishing

Fishing, whether with a lure or fly, is a passion in the Adirondacks. Bass, trout, walleyes, land-locked salmon, northern pike, and muskies are only part of the fishing roster here. Bring your fishing gear, but remember to get a license if you want to fish in our lakes! Click here to learn about Adirondack fishing.

Golfing

Established in 1929, this scenic golf course is located just above Caroga Lake and features expansive fairways surrounded by beautiful woods and generous landing areas. After playing, you can stop by the 19th Hole for great food and refreshments. Click here for details.

Caroga Lake Music Festival

The Caroga Arts Music Festival is located in the previous Sherman's Amusement Park in Caroga Lake, just 10 minutes south of our location. They present over 50 performances and community events and feature world-class artists from from a multitude of genres including classical, bluegrass, pop, rock, folk, and jazz.

Mountain Bike

Mountain Biking

Wheelerville Trails is a new, downhill-focused mountain bike system in Caroga, NY. It was developed in partner-ship with the Town of Caroga and the Adirondack Foothills Trails Alliance and has become a popular place to bike.  It features berms, small jumps, bridge, and ride-overs.

Kayaking

Kayaking is a wonderful chance to see nature at its best. While you're paddling, you may see loons, Canadian geese, ducks, flying fish, and even a beaver. You can put in at drop-off spots on the river less than 1/2 a mile in either direction. Or go to one of our nearby lakes!

Photography

Summer nature, fall foliage, bird watching, winter snow and ice, landscape photography, wild life, and drone...it's time to get creative! Our high elevation, and zero noise pollution will get you the Astro-photography setting you've been searching for!

Sightseeing

The Adirondacks are a great place to just get in your car and take in the beautiful sights. You can head up to Speculator, a quaint town about 15 minutes north. Or get lost on the backroads and find great antique shops and places along the way for a bite to eat.  Or head south to Cooperstown to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Boating/Jetskiing

In the area, you'll discover many beautiful lakes where you can enjoy all types of boating, waterskiing, jet skiing or just meandering around the lake in your party boat. Bring your boat with you or rent a motor boat at the local Canada Lake Store.

Hiking

There are many popular hiking trails in the area. You can hike up Kane Mountain to the fire tower, into Good Luck Lake and the Good Luck Lake cliffs or back into 9 Corner Lake with the clearest water anywhere. Click here for the various hiking trails.

Beach Bathing

Pine Lake Park just 5 minutes south has an expansive, sandy beach with plenty of space to set up your beach chairs, spread out your blanket, and enjoy the warm sand and the beautiful crystal clear water of Pine Lake. There are lifeguards on duty with clean changing area and restrooms.

Caroga Lake Museum

The Caroga Historical Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing our local history. It features the homestead, the cobbler shop, the peg barn, Sherman's Amusement Park Arcade, the ice house, the general store, and the pole barn. It is open from 1-4 pm, Thursdays through Sundays, the season runs from the last week in June through the last week in August.

Fall Golfing

Snowmobile Trail Access

Located directly behind "The Lodge" is a trail system for snowmobiling. So bring up your snowmobile and enjoy an amazing ride through the snow covered trails that will drop you off at many different locations.

Winter Hike

Snow Shoeing

If you'd rather hike in winter, than ski, you could try snow shoeing. It's a great way to get back into nature during those snowy winter months. Let us know what you'd like to do during your winter stay and we'll help you enjoy whatever outdoor sport you're interested in.

There's nothing more spectacular than the Adirondack fall foliage, or a glistening winter day with snow in the air. Join us for some winter landscape photography. And you may catch some wildlife as well. Then come back to your cabin for a roaring fire and a beverage of your choice.

Live  amongst your own! There is a reason that they call the Adirondacks the premier hunting destination. This is the perfect location and setting to host a group of hunters. Plus, after hunting, it's a great place to party or to sit back and relax. Group rates available for large groups.

Trekking in Snow

Cross Country Skiing

The snowmobile trails located directly behind The Lodge can also be used for cross country skiing. And you can do that right from our location. It's an amazing experience getting out in the snow and enjoying the fun that winter has to offer.
